Old Age Home

We have conducted a social survey in the target area C.K.Dinne Mandal. Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh in order to assess the status of the people. During the course of survey in 14 villages in C.K.Dinne Mandal we have contacted some hundreds and thousands of people and came to know about the needs and problems of the elderly and the health problems of the people in general. We came to know that there are hundreds of older persons who are totally neglected by their own kith and kin. Their present status in simply pitiable seeing that there is no food to eat no house to shelter, no clothes to wear and no Medicare to improve their health condition.

It is therefore proposed to construct a building in an extent of 0-10 cents out of 6.73 ACS. Of land taken on lease for a period of 99 years in Uruturu Village, C.K.Dinne mandal, Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh, South India. The building proposed for construction will have a capacity to provide accommodation for 100 elderly people from 4 villages in C.K.Dinne Mandal.

We will form a committee of 5 members (3 Executive Committee Members +2 members of the reputed local N.G.Os)to identify and select 100 older persons (50 males +50 females) after assessing their socio-economic status and their present health condition etc., and preference will be given only to those who are destitute elderly persons aged 60 years and above. They will be admitted in the 'Old Age Home' and provided with all the basic necessaries of life such as food, shelter, clothing and Medicare and every effort will be made to empower and improve their quality of life, to facilitate their productive ageing and also to provide physical, social, emotional, psychological and economic support in life.

Primary Health Care Center:

There are about 50,000 people living in 14 villages in C.K.Dinne Mandal. Kadapa District. But there is only one 'Primary Health Center' located in C.K. Mandal Head Quarters village. This centre is not able to cater to the medical needs of the people. One thing is not functioning properly as there is only one medical officer (doctor) with one compounder (Health Assistant) one clerk-cum-typist, one Attender and One Ayah.

The medicines required for public use are not usually available in the centre. So the people are suffering a lot without medical facilities inspite of having a Primary Health Centre in their area.

It is therefore proposed to establish a 'Primary Health Care Centre' in uruturu village, C.K. Dinne Mandal, Kadapa District. It is centrally located at a distance of 5 K.M. either from the C.K. Dinne Mandal Head Quarters or Kadapa District Head Quarters. There is Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) located at atleast distances of 5 to 6 k.m from the Kadapa city. The people of K.K.Dinne Mandal will have to travel in all a distance of 10 to15 k.m.to avail the medical facilities at RIMS, Kadapa City. Being poor they cannot afford to RIMS every now and then to avail the needed medical facilities. In this manner they are suffering a lot without medical facilities within their reach either from the P.H.C. at C.K.Dinne Mandal Quarters or from RIMS at Kadapa City and both wise they are deprived of this Medicare. So in the given situation it is easy for them to avail the medical facilities from the Primary Health Care Centre proposed to be setup at Uruturu Village as there are a number of Auto rickshaws and Buses playing on this road throughout day and night.
